A lizard named Larry

Larry the LizardI'm going to tell you a little story about a lizard. This cold blooded reptile made its way in to my humans' house way back in 2006. It was a tiny creature. Just a baby in fact. This was also nearly a year before I moved in. So my human was all on her own without her canine protector when she spotted the tiny lizard in her bed room trying to hide under the night stand. Understandably it spooked her a little but she regained her composure and caught the intruder.

For some reason that totally escapes me, she grew instantly fond of the little hairless thing with bit bug eyes and decided to call him Larry. Is Larry really a boy? Who knows. So as usual my human needed to get a photo of the animal before setting him free outside in her aviary catch. She chose the catch part of the aviary because he could easily hunt for food in there while being protected from other predators.

Larry the LizardAs time went by, things changed around the yard and house. The aviaries were re-arranged a bit. I came to live in the house and so on. However one constant and something my crazy human has grown quite fond of is seeing Larry each spring and summer. Over the years Larry grew, he fond a little lady friend and they had babies. At least that's how my human tells it. Who am I to argue with her happy little delusions after all?

Well today while cleaning the aviary out again, this is yearly occurrence, she found Larry again and apparently he needs to go on a diet. That's right Larry looking a little plump about the gut. Still she was happy to see him again and as usual took photos of him.

Just in case you are wondering about the name Larry, it came from a game. Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.
