Woofstock

That's the name I kid you not. Given the rather humorous name the event itself was a lot of fun and a lot bigger than my human or I anticipated. We opted not to do the walk portion of the event, rather to wander from booth to booth collecting goodies. Good thing we didn't do the walk too, there were so many booths it took hours to get through them all!

Atlantis, my human and I were joined this time by the Arizona Goldens and they brought Ella, Lex and Becker to join in the event. We heard over and over again how well behaved we all were. Naturally we were well behaved, we all totally rock. Ok so Atlantis pulled a bit more on the leash than she should have but she gets so excited at these events.

We got so much loving from everyone and lots of goodies to eat too. Ya that's why I go to things after all. One lady was even giving free massages to dogs so naturally Atlantis and I got in line. Oh ya that felt good!

We watched a police K9 demo and you could feel that dog's excitement as he tackled the guy in the bite suit. Many of us dogs watching would have loved to help him get that guy but the humans said no to that idea.

Later we watched a flyball demo. That was fun too but again my human said we couldn't join in the activity. That didn't bother me as much however, I've never really been in to playing ball anyways.

After four hours we finally saw the last of the vendor's booths, my human was sun burnt and both Atlantis and I were getting tired. So we bid a sweet farewell to our AZG buddies headed for home.

Under-wear?

I just have to tell this little story about that crazy pup Atlantis. Now I did some crazy stuff when I was young but this little ball of endless excited energy gets in to one form of mayhem after another. Normally it’s just a matter of counter surfing or pulling towels out of the closet repeatedly. Every once in while though the item doesn’t get back in to my human hands as it normally would.

On this particular day while my humans Aunt was over and gathering clothing for the wash, a pair of my humans’ underwear was accidentally dropped. Atlantis and my human were out back as my human was letting her potty before being put in the kennel so the humans could clean house in peace.

Atlantis must have heard the soft cotton panties hit the floor and she came racing back in to the house. My human, not quite so fast was several steps behind. Atlantis went to snatch the undergarment from the floor just as the other human was reaching for it. Unfortunately this time Atlantis felt the fabric was something of great value since this other human really wanted it back so without hesitation she swallowed the knickers down whole.

It was about this time my human finally caught up and discovered what happened. She tried to reach in and fish the cotton confection from Atlantis’s throat but it was too late and they were not within reach of even her very tiny hands.

A few attempts were made to induce vomiting but in this aspect Atlantis and I are a lot alike. What goes down stays down until we are good and ready to spew it forth. Personally I prefer to wait and vomit in the middle of the night while my human is sleeping and get puke all over the nice carpet in her bedroom. Atlantis normally runs for the carpet in the office. To each her own I guess.

So Atlantis was watched closely for several days for her to pass the tidy whities naturally. Thankfully my human does wear small undergarments and Atlantis never showed signs of distress or discomfort. Heck nothing phases that dog.

Eventually her poos appeared to have some cotton in them and we all figured things were passing well. Let me tell you, my human was not thrilled about checking her stools regularly. Let’s face it, poo stinks!

Then about five days after the incident Atlantis vomited up the remainder of the underwear one morning and barked with discontent until my human finished getting dressed and ventured out to investigate.

There she was sitting in the back of the kennel staring at the blob of what once has been my humans’ underwear which lay near the kennel door. She didn’t know what that was but she didn’t like it being in her kennel. So my human opened her door and she quickly dashed out making sure to leap over the pile of fibrous hurl so as not to touch it, then out the doggie door to join me in the yard. My human was left alone to clean the kennel. We did check on her about ten minutes later and the kennel was once again clean and smelling fresher than it had in days.

Walk to Save Animals '09

My human is so good about finding fun things for us to do on the weekends. To think it all started because I tended to be too distracted around other dogs, now it's like an addiction. She gets to take lots and lots of photos, chat with humans and eat junk food; I get tons of free treats and lots of loving.

This years' walk however was a cut a little shorter than usual. I wasn't feeling well, slightly bum leg and it was a tad chilly so my human didn't really want to stay out long anyways. Still we did go and humans' cousin joined us.

We went and perused the vendor's tables. Picked up the usual assortment of free treats and bones and chatted with a few people. We watched some hip-hop dancers start the walk portion of the day's events then we headed home so my human, her cousin, her aunt and uncle could go out for lunch.

Of course before we could leave we had to get in to the van and not to much surprise someone had parked right next to the van in the ramp zone. The vehicle invading our space didn't even have a handicapped plate or tag!

Normally there isn't much that can be done about this but this time her cousin spotted a park ranger I the distance and went off to find the authority figure. The park ranger was very nice and even wrote a citation for the offender.

After her cousin backed the van out so we could all get in we headed home to pick up the rest of the family and drop us doggies back off at the house.

Veterans Day Parade

On Veterans Day my human decided we dogs would enjoy a parade. Truth be told my human knew nothing about the Parade until the evening before when Sandy sent her a text message. Yes the other humans name is Sandy but not spelled with an "i" like my name is.

Sandy and Kelly invited us to join them, Brea and Dalea (yes more AZG pups) at the parade. Naturally one can't seem to park anywhere near the parade route so my human found a little out of way place to park. I really mean out of the way to. Our little doggie legs were a blur as we raced along with the scooter down one street than another, across more streets until we arrived at the designated intersection.

There we ran in to a yappy group of beagles and some other little mix breed dog. Rather than run us past them while looking for our human and canine companions my human wisely used her phone and Kelly found us.

All four of us dogs got lots of petting and attention while waiting for the parade to start. In fact we got more attention and loving during the parade too. I guess the adoration of our fluffy cuteness never really stopped. None of us minded however.

Dalea being the youngest one in the pack was a little spooked by the whole event so she took cover under my humans' legs for awhile. Brea and I just chilled for the most part and Atlantis, well I just can't take that pup anywhere. She was happy as long as someone was paying attention to her. I don't think she even did sit down for more than two minutes at a time though.

After the parade we started to long jog back to the van then home to sleep off the morning excitement.
