Emma
Emma came for a visit last week. My human brought her home late one Friday afternoon. Emma is also a golden retriever though she's more like Annie is size. She's very tall. It took her awhile to figure out how the doggie door worked even after I went in and out repeatedly to demonstrate its' function. Atlantis also tried to help guide her through the doggie door several times but she just wasn't getting it so my human would open the back door for her.
Once the novelty of a new playmate wore off, plus it was obvious that Atlantis and Emma preferred each others company I got a little annoyed with Emma. Especially so when she would approach my human for some attention. Once I even snarled at her a little, unfortunately my human saw this and corrected me so I was left with only the evil eye as a means of deterring her.
I did find it very amusing how often Emma would get in my humans way and not know to move out her way. Every time my human went anywhere in the house Emma followed. Every time she asked Emma to move out of her way Emma would just lie down and ignore her. Every time my human called for Emma to do anything Emma would ignore her. She just couldn't seem to find that balance of being with my human but not being in my humans' way. I lost count of the number of time my human accidentally stepped on Emma and much to my surprise Emma didn't mind being stepped on.
My human even tried to line us all up for a photo. You'd think the commands "Here" and "Sit" would be simple enough for all us dogs. And for Atlantis and I they were no problem but would Emma do anything my human asked of her, no. She didn't. So where ever Emma's butt landed is where she'd move Atlantis and I do in the attempt of getting a photo of all of us together.
Of course by this time Emma and I weren't really on good terms so every time I came and sat next to Emma she'd get up and move several feet over then sit back down again. She'd sit with me only if Atlantis was between us. My human tried over the course of several days to line us up for the photo she wanted. She kind of got it in the end but it still isn't quite what she was hoping for.
By now you are probably wondering why my human brought a third dog in to her home. Well I'll tell you. She did it because Kona was very pregnant and my human took Emma in to help get as many of the extra dogs out of the Arizona Goldens LLC household while Kona had her puppies.
Kona had her puppies on June 8th. My human went over to watch and help record the birth. Kona had 5 girls and 1 boy. All 6 are alive and very strong pups. The father is Lexington.
Emma went home last Thursday night and now my home is getting back to normal. But for how long?????
