Petsmart Charities Dog Walk

Petsmart hosted a huge dog walk at the Tempe Lake last weekend so naturally my human and I had to attend. Free goodies!!!

The place was packed. I would say wall to wall people and dogs but since it was all outdoors there were no walls and I can't think of an expression that would fit. Needless to say it wasn't always easy navigating through the crowds to reach the vendors booths to obtain all the important goodies. Snacks, treats, oh ya!!

Annie and her human joined us for this fundraiser and the humans did do their part to help out and made a donation to help shelter animals. That line was long and my butt got sniffed a few more times than I'd like to think about. Still it was worth it, the humans got a pretty red ticket which led them to another booth and they exchanged that ticket for yet another bag of goodies!! A few snazzy bandanas too.

Annies' human was also motorized this time too thanks to the Arizona Goldens LLC, they let her use their power chair since she had surgery on her knee a few weeks ago. She did a very good job driving about, didn't run over any toes or paws. Way to go Gretchen!

We met up with the Arizona Goldens LLC at the event. Helped hand out some flyers but truth be told my human did more gabbing and petting other dogs than anything. One particular Australian Shepherd named Stellar got a little too cozy with my human if you ask me.

La la la I'm not listening

When I was a pup I could actually fit my entire body under my humans' bed. It was a great place to hide. Now I have to settle for only my head under the bed. Kind of like the proverbial ostrich burring its' head in the sand.

Now I didn't do this to be ornery or immature, rather simply because I was tired. Who wouldn't be after playing with the new pup Atlantis, working on her commands and helping my human in my daily service dog duties.

Normally I'd help her with her socks, slacks and put everything in the laundry basket; but on that particular night even the lure of a peanut butter flavored snack wouldn't make me bring my head out from under the bed. Not a chance. From the moment we walked in to her bedroom for the night I ran to the side of the bed and dug in. I wouldn't even close the door for her. Oh ya I do that every night too.

Maybe I'll feel like doing more tomorrow. Tee Hee Hee..

This, That and Atlantis

Once again it's been too long since I posted on my blog. Things have been rather busy around here lately and it's hard to find any free time let alone get my human to stop working on the computer long enough for me to use it.

So let's do a quick re-cap. Christmas was fun. I got two huge bones and more biscuits. I didn't get to eat any of these goodies until recently because as you know Preston was visiting over Christmas. After the holidays the room mate moved out and now has a lovely apartment of her own and I do hope she's doing well and is happy. My human is a little slower about refilling my water bowl than she was but that's ok.

The night my human took Preston home she brought another dog back home with her. This time it was Atlantis or as my human tends to call her “Honey”. I must admit at first I couldn't get enough of this pup and we played until we dropped that night.

I had smelled her on my human many times before. She's been working with Atlantis pretty much weekly since she was born. We had even met face to face once before but it was very brief. Now we were living together for this trial run. By the second day I admit her constant licking of my face and bouncing was getting on my nerves a bit so I wasn't as friendly as the night before.

Atlantis has a secret weapon; she's cute, submissive and I tend to want to give her whatever she wants. My human was very surprised when I let Atlantis have some of my dog food and part of my chew bone. Granted I didn't let her have much but the fact that I was sharing my food was admittedly out of character for me.

Now if we can just get Atlantis to stop jumping on my human things would be great. My human doesn't like to admit it but she does have a few bruises on her legs from Atlantis using her as a spring board. She is hoping she can work with Atlantis to fix this problem soon and without being too impatient with her. She's a little worried about that.

Atlantis did go back home to the Arizona Goldens LLC after a week with us so my human could clean up the house and do a better job of puppy proofing – Atlantis gets in to more and can reach more stuff than Preston did. We are both looking forward to her return.
