Botanicals
Today was a busy day. First the humans woke me up far too early in the morning, and then the humans are rushing around like crazy people. Finally my best pal Annie shows up and because of the rushing we weren't allowed to play and romp as usual. Finally we all end up in the van and heading to a destination of fun and excitement. This actually translates to; the humans get to have fun and I have to practice heeling and being a good dog. Not thrilling for me personally but at least I get to go. Annie agrees with me totally on that point.
A short ride turned in to a long ride as most of the roads we needed were closed. However we did eventually arrive at our destination, The Desert Botanical Gardens. We met up with a few other ladies making our group six humans and two canines strong. This must have been ladies day out because there wasn't a male in the group.
This trip was mostly a long hot outing on a hot day in a location with little shade. Naturally we stopped for water frequently and rested in the shade a few times to cool down.
I would have liked to sniff more of the plants and dirt but apparently that is a dangerous thing to do while walking around hundreds of spiny and thorny plants. Go figure. On a more positive note I did get to see some rabbits, quail, lizards, and ground squirrels. I would have liked to chase after all these critters and even tried a few times but a quick snap on the leash brought me right back to reality.
After the trip we all went out for lunch. I even got a few scraps this time. I think my human felt bad because she made me walk around in the hot sun for so many hours. I love it when she feels guilty. Tee Hee..
