Lana's Visit

The next canine visitor was also a service dog who also happened to be a golden retriever. Yes another pup from Arizona Goldens LLC. They just keep following me home. I guess I am really that irresistible.

Lana, like Ella wasn't fond of the van. So getting her used to the van was a main goal. We took several short trips here and there. Lana didn't like it one bit and managed to get rather tangled in her leash on more than one occasion. Thankfully my humans' roommate was usually with us so she could help untie poor entangled Lana. Finally the services of a blue plushy toy shaped like kiwi bird were employed to help keep her calm in the van. Kind of like a doggie pacifier if you will. It helped a lot and I'm sure she'll be very comfortable in a van with a little more practice.

Lana was more laid back as I am. This was great. It was good for my human too as we like to sleep in each morning. Lana also loved to run around the back yard with me and we'd race from end to end before coming in for a cool drink and a much needed nap.

I wasn't fond of her constant need to be next to my human. Again, she's mine! However being that she was a tad pushier than the previous pup she did horn in on my lovin' and pettin' simply because she'd stand so close to my human Lana was practically under her feet. Still I didn't feel as threatened with Lana as I did with Ella so I let her get away with more.

Lana also learned very quickly that dogs are not allowed on my humans' bed at night. So as all good canines do, we slept on the floor. Most nights she's join me in the shower to fall asleep then we make our way to the master bed and curl up on the floor near my human. Lana did get stepped on a few times. She didn't fully understand any I don't lay on the floor right next to my human. She figured that lesson out the hard way but she didn't seem to care. Like me she was always thrilled to see the human get up in the morning.
